Losing Paradise
PERFORMANCE
Paradise galery, Nantes (FR)
2017
Performance created for the festival Champs Magnétiques # 2, following a residency in Paradise, September 9th 2017.
Losing Paradise is a proposal that links the iconography of so-called classical art to current political situations.
By questioning the representations of youth, women and man and their social roles in a white and europocentric art, the artist arranges the codes and the images in order to produce strangely familiar situations.

« This performance is organized into 5 chapters, and we are beginning with the first one, the Genesis of the project.
I’ll talk to you about it a little.
Then I’ll dance a bit, because it’s another medium that conveys different feelings—and also so I don’t bore you too much with just talking.
And then, there will also be a bit of nudity—nudity still tends to work quite well—but don’t worry, I’ll give you a heads-up beforehand. You’ll have time to leave, or come in, depending on your preferences.
Before that happens, Jilann will arrive—that will be the sign that we’re already halfway through.
The whole thing shouldn’t last more than 40 minutes, I promise. »
