Monumental

Monumental is a performance and film by Jocelyn Cottencin

Monuments, architecture, statues, are based on a visual score performed by a group of 12 performers and choreographers following constraints which define space and time.

Monumental questions  memory, transmission and reception of images of sculptural and architectural heritage.

Through the constantly moving bodies of the performers what shifts are the concepts of figure, narrative and form themselves. Each selected monument is decoded and returned by actions, movements and displacements.
