Reality Check...

Reality check, c’est à dire Siulek et moi faisant les 400 coups is a piece written by Tomek and me.
It is an essay-like performance that tries to bring together our two worlds, after we got married in Las Vegas.

Georges Perec says in Things : “They knew nothing that was not fragile or confused. And yet this was their life; it was the source of unknown exaltations, more than intoxicating, something immensely, intensely open. They sometimes told themselves that the life they would lead would have the charm, flexibility, and imagination of American comedies, of Saul Bass title sequences…”

In our research, we decided to dig a little beneath the beautiful and melancholic surface of social diagnoses such as those.

To be tested: a relationship does not simply exist—it is built.
Our expectations are put to test.

The piece has been performed at the CNDC d’Angers and in Mains D’oeuvres, St Ouen (FR).
